Other than the storage problem it creates, it is pretty cool to head over to the parts bin and find a restorable part!

Hmm....I have seen a lot of faulty "F" marked parts? Not sure if the "F" means they were factory rejects or what? Still learning.....:-)

Thanks Steve. I hope that block isn't toast....but I really need to take it apart and turn it over to see what the repair looks like on the inside. On one hand, I am willing to be impressed that anyone got that much rod on a block without cracking it to 1000 pieces.....but many that is not a pretty repair. We will see, but I am not going to disassemble it until about 6 other projects are finished ;-) I had to laugh about the clean and dirty....somehow, my "clean" stuff almost always ends up with grease stains on it. My wife is up for sainthood.

Thanks Robert - we had a great 10 days and Oliver learned a lot about mechanics, himself, projects etc..... I am still dragging 10 days post project but worth it!

It has been a long time. I really like my machinist, but he is overwhelmed with work and for some reason doesn't want to take on an apprentice. I offered to work for him on Saturdays for free.....:-) (I wanted the education). He does nice work though...so excited to get the parts on order and move the Weasel back into the working bay to get something done on it. Hope you are well Howard!

Don't you just love Murphy! I was pretty disappointed to see that repair. Big picture, no problem, but sad to see it nonetheless. I am definitely going to completely disassemble the engine and figure out how structurally sound I think that block is....Assuming it passes muster, I will rebuild the engine at some point and try to make it look better cosmetically. I keep seeing those ads for "Muggyweld"....low temp (ish)....so who knows, I may try and add some filler, do some creative grinding etc. Speaking of Weasel electrical systems...time to start making a harness for the T24 ;-)

Appreciate it Nick. My first jeep took me two years to get the frame in primer so I know the drill! Now to get it finished over the next 60 days or so....
