They are cool little devices!  Get a copy of TM 9-1825B - has a lot of information and is helpful to have as you work through this.  I am willing to bet that this VR will work fine once it is cleaned up.  Get some electrical contact cleaner and then use a fine brass brush/3M pads, emory cloth and mechanically clean them.  As long as the contact areas are bright and shiny, the rest is just our collective OCD!  You can try a product like Mothers Metal Polish too....if you want to go HAM!

Why don't you start by posting them here....Let's see how that works.  Many thanks in advance!

LOL....he is game...the only question he had was...."do yous guys have hammas down there"....?

Appreciate your support Steven.  That is our goal....to get folks to be comfortable enough to roll up their sleeves and jump in!

Thank you Scott...will try it out!

As always Scott, you are a wealth of information.  It sounds like you identified the problem instantly...we spent half a day messing around with it!🤣. Thank you for the information!

I think there is a "correct" angle for the cam engagement - what exactly it is....I don't know!  The left band is now my "standard"...turns really well and easily to the left.  I am going to be methodical when I replace the bands next week...hopefully I can validate this understanding, document it and make it easy for the next guy to make their Weasel steer correctly!

We appreciate your support Robert!  I don't know anything about that trailer - very interesting.  I will poke around and see if I have any manuals or other information on them.  Thanks again!
