Mission:Â Wild raspberry picking!
Just about any short trip is more enjoyable in the jeep. If you lived in my community, you would see my jeep out nearly every day for the 8 or so months of the year where the roads are clear. Whether it is a quick run to the post office or picking up groceries, taking the jeep makes the trip a fun adventure.
Now, there is one driving adventure that I don't enjoy - and that is breaking down. There is nothing fun about driving around with that pit in your stomach, wondering what is going to break next. And that my friends, is why I started this channel and why we do what we do at Portrayal. I want you to enjoy your vehicle as much as I enjoy the jeep and I hope to provide you with the information/tools and a little inspiration to get everything on your vehicle completely squared away.
See you on Thursday - the shop is calling!

We were down in Georgia over the weekend visiting Mr. Pullup, who is teaching music and songwriting at Camp Southern Ground. He is working his tail off, but having a great time.Â
With the East Coast pretty much shut down Sunday due to inclement weather and no prospect of flying home until Tuesday, my bride and I ended up renting a car and driving back to the People's Republic.Â
Our journey took us past Camp Toccoa. #respect

Greetings. We are going to be having our first monthly subscriber Zoom meet up on Thursday, June 29 at 8pm ET.  The meeting will last an hour or so - will be discussing body repair techniques and will be open to questions and to discussing individual challenges. You will be able to share images of your project and we can share ideas on how to accomplish the repair.
I will be sending out a link early next week with further details. Cheers!

Spent a great couple of days at the 2023 MVPA Convention in Des Moines, Iowa.  How often do you get to see an M22 Locust "light airborne" tank? Lots of images and video coming up on Thursday!

We had a great time last weekend in Sparta, NJ at their first annual veteran's appreciation day. The event had re-enactors from the Revolutionary War up to modern times. It was a nice event with about 15 vehicles.
Heading out to Des Moines for the annual MVPA convention tomorrow. We are not set up to sell, but will be wandering around, judging a few vehicles and taking lots of video. If you are going to be there, look for me in the Portrayal Press cap and introduce yourself!

We had a fantastic time at the WW2 Weekend and Airshow in Reading, PA. I don't think I have ever seen so many jeeps in my life - there must have been close to 100. Lots of breakdowns too! I almost got dirty a couple of times wanting to roll up my sleeves and jump in.Â
They put on an airshow as well featuring a host of WW2 aircraft - B-25's, SNJ's, Stearmans, a Bucker, a Stampe, Corsair, Mustangs, P-63 King Cobra, L-2, L-4, Wildcat, TBM, B-29, C-47's, Lockheed Electra and more.... the WW2 Airborne Demonstration team jumped, there were skirmishes, flamethrowers....just a lot to see.  We will probably set up next year and do something - not sure if I want to sell or set up a motorpool and just work on vehicles all weekend.Â

Making progress on the "10 foot" paint job on the M29 Weasel. My bride asked "what's a 10 foot paint job". I explained..."looks good at 10 feet".....not so much up close. I generally don't like doing temporary work, but this machine will be displayed several times over the next month and I would rather have it look a little more presentable.
Enjoy your week!

Greetings all. We just had this enhanced community feature added to the site. Not sure how we are going to use it exactly, but am absolutely open to suggestions!
