Greetings Pierre and thank you for the kind words! Each of these little milestones are a real boost to motivation. Your wife will get it when you start taking for rides in the M38 :-) The funny thing about doing something like a restoration - akin to training and running for a marathon or something equally difficult - takes a long time, tremendous sustained effort.....most folks don't finish 'em! Here's to progress on our projects in 2023!
Glad you are enjoying it Adam. We appreciate you being here! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Nick! I think we need to do a segment on making canvas....soon!
Happy New Year Rob! Thanks for all the support. Scout Car water pump rebuild coming up in 2023!
Merry Christmas Robert! On it! Thursday's video has a nice segment on patching a hole in the side of the MB tub where they added a CJ gas tank filler neck. I am also busy working on short, "tutorial style" lessons. I hope to end 2023 with a nice catalog of all of the basic skills....from setting up a MIG welder to cutting steel etc. Thank you for the feedback and for your support!
Merry Christmas to you too Nick! Hope you and your family have a blessed holiday.
It is a bit chilly this morning....1F.....and windy, but we have the fireplace going, fully bellies, family home...life is good! This tub is the early ACM Type 1....so indeed very different set of hat channels. As I understand the story, the War Department had Ford outsource their tubs to ACM in '44.....Ford had them make changes...including to the hat channel design and the Type II ACM was born. They are much closer to the Ford made tubs than the original ACM I. So much to learn! Thanks again.
Glad you are enjoying them Nick. Appreciate all of your support and encouragement. Enjoy the cold and glad to hear you are busy. Can't wait to get back to the Weasel and start playing with Weasel canvas!! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Many thanks for the tips Dave. I am going to remove those side hat channels - nice to know that RF carries them....we shall see how bad those are once I get them removed. Pat D has a very original early GPW.....we are doing some comparisons and will report back shortly. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Much appreciated Tom! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
