Patrick, forgot to mention 3 things.

1.) I have those exact same 1950s Sun tools, and I'd love to see how you use the vacuum gauge. We haven't figured it out yet. We use the tach/dwell meter all the time.

2.) My Sun tools are still attached to the original cabinet! And I have all the manuals for the whole thing. Would you like to see them? It has been the best 20 dollar flea market find ever.

3.) Look up Jon Ramsdell and GI Junk, he deals with radio stuff ALL the time. He might be able to put you on a lead to the radio equipment you're after.

Ok, so earlier this year I was working on driving a pin out of the swinging landing gear leg of my Ben-Hur trailer, using a small sledge hammer... and I missed the pin and squarely hit my finger, which was uh...right on top of my benchtop vice.

You shoulda seen it.

I didn't drain it, and I had like this really weird nail on top of nail thing goin' on and it was super weird!

I hope Pat comes back!!

I've had the pleasure of working with Derrick and "General" Taylor and watching this business grow! It has been nothing short of a Herculanean effort, as he also works with the Fire Department and is pulling very, very long shifts. I am in awe of his tenacity and commitment to this hobby.

More jeeps to get out on the road! It's so comforting they are going to a team with the passion and desire to fix them!

I hope to hang out with you guys someday! Way more fun doing this with friends!

Patrick Tipton I have the kit coming in from Midwest Military. I'll message you when it arrives. Give me a couple days to get out to my storage unit and get the pump off the engine block. It is in need of a full psychiatric workup!

Patrick, I have an M38A1 Fuel Pump I'll send you to rebuild!

Do you need a rebuild kit for it or should I buy one and send it along?

As the new owner of an A1, and I'm not new to M-Series... welcome to the dark side! We have cookies and dual action fuel pumps!

Favorite part of the video was when you had it running, then it quit, and within thirty seconds of the hood coming down... back up it went! Such is the story with these old things, isn't it? LOL

Commented on How To Parkerize

Aug 15 at 02:08 PM

I revisited this video after purchasing my manganese parkarizing compound stuff. I didn't find any parkerizing solution for carbs specifically, so I'm going to just use this stuff that is typically used for guns. I'm assuming that's what you did. Two more questions if I may.

1.) When you say that you can polish the parkerizing off the machined surfaces, does that mean I can just use my wire brush wheel on my drill and knock it off or is there a specialized tool I need to polish?

2.) I'm worried that the parkerizing is going to jam up the interior orifices of the carb. Have you tested this particular carb stuff on your engines after the parkerizing to confirm that it's working okay?
