Sirens are the BOMB. I wish I was as comfortable taking motors apart to rebuild as you all were. It appears that my bushings are worn out and about 15% of the time it kind of binds up and doesn’t turn fast enough. My tub is currently a repop tub. My GPW is a 9 of 42 Richmond jeep that did not yet have a blackout light, so I just used the blackout light switch hole and put my button there. My siren is mounted on the inner fender under the hood. It’s just as annoying as mounting it on top of the fender. I hope your veteran feels well enough for the parade. There is nothing better than to carry a WWII veteran in your jeep in a Memorial, a Veterans Day, or a 4th of July parade.

I can't wait for that T-84 rebuild video. I have rebuilt a couple of these trannys without any measurements of that 2nd / 3rd shaft. Just relying on new built / NOS part and a good transmission case. My Jeep probably has 8k on its tranny. I think I was just lucky. I would rather be lucky than good any day, but I sure would like to know more about what I am doing than just getting lucky with good parts. Carry on, Good sir. Robert

I can watch all that bodywork for hours. I hope it's seeping in so when I get to my Sept 42 GPW tub I can get as good of a finished product as you are going to have. Carry on Good Sir.

Pat, I would prefer a little more detail on the how to on the patching. I have a 1944 Couse Laboratories 1/2 ton trailer that needs a little patchwork. I hope to take your tutelage and attempt to repair this trailer prior to tackling the jeep tub. I will probably work on a couple of Ford Fenders before the Tub. 15 years ago when I restored my GPW. I got to the tub and freaked out and completely passed. I bought a repop tub and kept moving. All these years gone by I have that original tub sitting alongside the house just waiting for me to put my man pants on and just do it. I have watched all your T-24 repairs and now the jeep repairs. I'm learning a lot. I really appreciate the confidence that you instill in me to actually try to do this. The hardest part is that first step. I just gotta start.

When I went down to Napa Valley to pick up some weasel parts I talked to the gentleman for a while and one of the things that he told me about the bands is that if you use detergent oil in the final drive is causes slippage. He told me to be sure to use a nondetergent oil in the final drive.

Man, ole Murphy sure gets around. He visited my weasel and has left an electrical gremlin. He just tests us to show we can fix the little gremlins he leaves while he is here. I have no doubt you will deal with this. Robert

Great Father/Son Project. As you know it's really tough to do all this in 10 days. It's the Father Son time that is important and getting done what ya could is secondary.

My son and I have a 44 MB that we have been gathering parts for. I am not sure it's a 10-day gig. ask me again next year how we are doing.
